Habitat - The Arctic Tundra extends beyond the tree line in the far northern regions of North America. It is characterized by low temperatures, low precipitation, and a short growing season. Plant growth form here is low and growth is slow. Typical vegetation is cotton grass, sedges, dwarf heaths, and small willows.
The Common Raven is the only bird that can be heard year-round. In summer the Oldsquaw, Snow Goose, and Willow Ptarmigan are the main birds heard.
